PARA SUKMA XXI SARAWAK 2024
SUKMA Supreme Committee meeting on 16 March 2023 chaired by Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has decided that the 21st edition of the Malaysia Sports Games (SUKMA) will be held in Sarawak from 17 to 24 August involving Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri.
In addition to SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024, the Supreme Committee of SUKMA also agreed to hold Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024 from 22 to 28 September 2024 in Kuching.
The Games involve 1,290 athletes and 781 officials from September 22 to 28, 2024.
A total of 15 contingents from Sarawak, Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Selangor, Terengganu, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and the Federal Territory of Labuan will participate in the Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024.
The Para SUKMA XXI Sarawak 2024 this time involves 10 types of sports and 328 sports events that will compete in five core sports namely Para Athletics, Para Powerlifting, Para Badminton, Para Swimming and Para Table Tennis. Meanwhile, the other five preferred sports are Para Lawn Ball, Para Archery, Para Chess, Boccia and Para Tenpin Bowling.
